Tonight, l (along with 100s of other Angelenos) will get on a bus and head to Phoenix for a protest of their racist law SB 1070. The bus leaves at 11pm and arrives at 6am. The protest starts at 8 and is a 5.5 mile march. It is expected to be about 100 degrees in Phoenix. After the protest, we will board the bus and head back to Los Angeles. It is going to be a long but exciting day.
So, I'm creating a packing list for this trip. We can't bring coolers on the bus and besides an hour dinner break on Saturday, we won't have many stops (there is a bathroom on the bus). So here's my list so far:
My really good hiking shoes
Long sleeve white shirt
Bag 1 (to carry with me on the march)
2 water bottles
1 coffee thermos
My camera with extra memory cards (it is charging now)
Advil
Sunblock
Hat
Sunglasses
pen and notepad
hair band
wallet
cell phone
Bag 2 (to leave in bus while marching)
blanket
travel pillow
trail mix
trail mix
granola bars
ipod (still need to update it with a movie or something)
small flashlight
Advil PM
hand sanitizer
Tampons (just in case)
ear plugs
travel toothbrush and toothpaste
deodorant
book
pen and notepad
Anything else I'm forgetting?
